Lambung Mangkurat University provides scholarship services as part of the university’s commitment to:
- Facilitating access to higher education for students with financial constraints. For example, the KIP Kuliah program allows students from low-income families to receive financial assistance for their studies until graduation.
- Improve students’ academic and non-academic achievements by providing incentives for high-achieving students.
- Encourage partnerships with government and private institutions to improve human resource quality and institutional capacity, such as collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) on scholarship and student development programs.
- Types of Scholarships Available
Some types of scholarships offered at ULM (both by the campus itself and through partner institutions) include:
- Government scholarships, such as KIP Kuliah, waive UKT/SPP for underprivileged students until graduation.
- Achievement scholarships: scholarships for students who have academic or non-academic achievements, for example, through certain faculties or departments.
- Private company/institution partnership scholarships: an example of the Indonesia Bright Future Leaders (IBFL) program provided by the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation / PT Adaro Energi Indonesia for ULM students.
- International scholarships / further studies: ULM also provides programs for students or graduates who wish to continue to master’s / doctoral level abroad through international scholarship partnerships.

General requirements
As an illustration, the things that are usually required to apply for a scholarship at ULM:
- Active students registered at ULM include a photocopy of their Student Card, KTP/Family Card.
- An academic transcript with a minimum GPA according to the provisions of the institution/funder.
- Certificate of income of parents/guardians (if the scholarship is for low-income families).
- Not currently receiving another scholarship (depending on the type).
Submission and distribution mechanisms
- Funders (both internal and external to the university) set quotas and criteria through the Rectorate/Vice Rector for Student Affairs.
- The faculty proposes prospective recipients to the university according to quotas and provisions.
- After the decision is issued (Rector’s Decree/funder), the scholarship funds are distributed to the student’s account through the designated bank.
- Obligations and Termination of Scholarship

- Utilise scholarship funds to improve academic achievement.
- Stay active in student organisations or campus/faculty activities (depending on the type of scholarship).
- Reporting study progress via academic transcripts periodically.
Delay or termination
Scholarships may be terminated or revoked if:
- Students have completed their studies or withdrawn.
- Performance falls below the set criteria.
- The data provided is incorrect, or the funder has withdrawn assistance.
- Statistics and Relevance
- Based on October 2024 data, ULM has 6,636 scholarship recipients (for various faculties), with details of 5,469 from the “Bidik Misi / KIP Kuliah” category and 1,167 from the “Other” category.
- Partnership scholarship programs, such as IBFL, noted that “100 ULM students successfully obtained scholarships up to the undergraduate level” in one period.
- ULM has also been designated as one of the campuses offering a special scholarship pathway from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) for 10 study programs in 2024.

- Prepare complete documents(transcript, KTP/KK, income statement) well before registration.

- For postgraduate students or those interested in further studies, or take programs or take advantage of international programs or overseas scholarships available through the campus (such as collaboration with Australia).
