Course Distribution in the 2020 Curriculum

The History Education Study Program requires students to complete a minimum of 144 credits (SKS) for graduation, which can be accomplished within the ideal study period of eight semesters for a bachelor’s degree (S1). This total is part of the 156 credits offered throughout the entire program.

The curriculum is structured as follows:

  • 57 compulsory courses are designed to build students’ core competencies in historical knowledge, pedagogy, civic and national insight, as well as research methodology. These courses must be taken by all students.

  • 10 elective courses allow students to explore specific interests in historical studies or contextual issues in education, providing academic flexibility and enrichment.

The combination of compulsory and elective courses ensures that graduates possess comprehensive academic, pedagogical, methodological, and professional competencies in accordance with the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), and supports the development of graduate profiles as history educators and researchers in the fields of history and history education.
