Course Distribution in the 2023 Curriculum

The History Education Study Program requires students to complete a minimum of 144 credits (SKS) for graduation, ideally within eight semesters of full-time study at the bachelor’s (S1) level. These credits are drawn from a total of 156 credits offered across the entire program.

The curriculum is organized as follows:

  • 55 compulsory courses provide a strong foundation in historical knowledge, pedagogy, civic and national awareness, and research methodology. These courses are mandatory for all students.

  • 12 elective courses offer students the opportunity to pursue specialized interests in historical studies or contextual educational issues, fostering academic flexibility and intellectual enrichment.

This combination of compulsory and elective coursework equips graduates with comprehensive academic, pedagogical, methodological, and professional competencies aligned with the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). It also supports the development of graduate profiles as history educators and researchers in the fields of history and history education.
