
As an innovative step in integrating technology into education, the History Education Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University held a Virtual Reality (VR) Training for Lecturers and Students on September 28, 2024, at the Immersive Laboratory. This activity aimed to introduce VR technology as a more interactive, immersive, and contextual history learning medium. Participants were given a basic understanding of the concept of virtual reality and hands-on experience in how this technology can be used to virtually explore historical sites and past events.
Through this training, lecturers and students learn to develop VR-based learning materials that deliver a more immersive and immersive learning experience. This technology is expected to provide an alternative solution to address limited access to historical sites, while also encouraging creativity in developing engaging and meaningful learning models. Direct interaction with VR devices provides a new experience that opens up insights and offers significant potential for developing digital-based teaching media.
This training reflects the History Education Study Program’s commitment to continuously adapting to changing times and technology. By combining conventional and digital learning methods, lecturers and students are ready to move towards a more transformative and relevant history learning experience for today’s generation.
